This year’s Hamilton vegetarian Food Fair seemed to be much anticipated after last years successful event. After all, this is the 22nd annual Vegetarian Food Fair organized and presented by the Hamilton Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church on Concession Street in Hamilton.
“I visit almost every vegan food festival in the GTA, and myself and my party all agree this is easily the best event! Great location near the gardens, welcoming community, kind volunteers, unique and exciting food from local kitchens, excellent and fair prices, generous portions, and lovely music!
Thanks for organizing such an enjoyable event!”
This year, the event started an hour earlier and by the time I arrived there just after 11am, people were already cuing through the over 30 vendors to sample vegetarian and vegan food done right. One person I spoke with said he comes every year to the event for the burgers. I asked if it was because this year the burgers were Beyond Meat burgers. His response, “I love the sauce that is used. It is the best flavoring for the burgers. This is why I come every year.”
Two others I spoke with said they have been coming to the food fair for six years and wouldn’t miss it.
Tracy on Facebook posted after the event, “Shepherd’s pie, cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers, plant meatloaf, sweet potato mash, curry chickpeas and potatoes, rice and red beans, plant meatballs. Gluten free cornbread, apple pastry, cupcake, cake. ALL FOR $29. THANK YOU TO ALL THE VOLUNTEER COOKS!”
The forecast for the past 2 weeks called for thunderstorms and when I woke Sunday morning, that is exactly what the skies were threatening. But the day was perfect, hot even. The food was plenteous, the music was welcoming I and my family had a great time.
Thank you again Pauline and the team at the Hamilton Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church for another enjoyable and tasty event.
